WELCOME TO "POROUS PAVERS: Sustainable Solutions for Effective Water Management"
This course covers the fundamental principles of porous paving systems, emphasizing their benefits in Low Impact Development (LID) initiatives due to their stormwater management abilities, urban heat island effect mitigation and other capabilities. Participants will learn about the different types of porous paving systems and how to assess them based on performance, maintenance, aesthetics and installation.
Additionally, this course will provide guidelines for selecting the appropriate type of porous paving for real-world applications by considering site-specific conditions like expected traffic and local climate. The course also addresses how porous pavers help designers comply with stormwater regulations and earn points toward green building certifications like LEED and SITES.
