The record-breaking flooding in North Dakota in June of 2011 left a trail of devastation including the destruction of thousands of homes. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) set us multiple mobile home parks in North Dakota to house 4,600 displaced North Dakota citizens. Minot was the home to the Virgil Workman Village and over 200 of these mobile homes. The Army Corp of Engineers, along with FEMA officials, needed a way to provide stable, wheelchair accessible sidewalks to the trailers from the designated parking spots. USACE and FEMA chose Gravelpave2. Gravelpave2 installed quickly even in the frigid North Dakota winter. The Gravelpave2 was placed and installed, on two separate dates, in matter of hours. Gravelpave2 also mitigated erosion problems and future stormwater runoff issues.
